Six years ago, Brewed As began as just the two of us – Anna and I, making coffees and sweet treats for the cabinet, chasing a dream and a whole lot of early mornings. Fast forward to today, and we’re a full-blown restaurant with a bar, a talented crew of 20 wonderful individuals, and a space that’s grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined – a hub, a hangout, a home away from home.
 

It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. We’ve weathered lockdowns, storms, power cuts, tsunami warnings, fires, and the ever-tricky world of staffing. But through it all, one thing has stayed constant – the support and aroha of this amazing community. You’ve kept us going, and we’re beyond grateful.
 

Over time, we’ve also found our groove – honing in on the flavours we love, the food that excites us, and the kind of experience we want to share. It’s been a journey of growth, learning, and a lot of joy.

So next week, we celebrate. Expect giveaways, birthday specials, and a party to remember – live music, DJs, good vibes and all the Brewed As flavour you know and love. We’d love to see you there.

🎶 Live Music Vibes – Thursday 24th April

To wrap up the birthday fun, we’re hosting a special live set with Jamie, a soulful singer-songwriter, the following week.
He'll start the night (6pm) with some soulful tunes with his guitar then finishing out the night with a DJ set 'The Vibe Cartel' with DJ Morpho & The Boogie Sharman (Jamie) for some funky house vibes til 9:30pm

From an empty shell with a colourful past — once a produce store, an internet café/video rental (the old VHS/DVD return slot still lives in the door), later a computer shop and a print store — this space has seen it all. Now, it's home to our restaurant.

Our food journey has come a long way — from humble beginnings serving just coffee and cabinet fare at the pizzeria, to what we now offer at our current home. It’s been a delicious evolution.
